Capturing the Magic of Christmas
As a Portrait Photographer, one of the most wonderful and rewarding parts of my job is setting up a space and building in some activities where children can be children, parents can relax and we can capture some seriously special moments.
Scroll through the photos and you'll see that all of the children had the most amazing time, doing snowball fights, writing their letters to Santa, decorating the Christmas Tree, eating cookies and reading some Christmas stories! We packed a lot into the 30 minute session time, but that meant the children were kept entertained, the photos weren't too posed or staged, and the parents got a variety of shots they can chose from to print as gifts for grandparents and family members.
This year I chose to have a neutral, rustic backdrop as the weather (Storm Darragh!) forced us to shoot inside. This ended up working perfectly, as I organised lots of activities that the children could do within the space.
What are Christmas Mini Sessions?
30 minute session
Studio space with a Christmas themed backdrop
15 (or more!) digital images for you to keep to print
Christmas activities for the children to do to keep them engaged, relaxed, happy and most importantly, smiling!
Optional - parents can also choose to have a family photo taken too! I always try and persuade you, as you'll never get this time back when your children are so little. It makes for some seriously beautiful photographs!
Why book a Christmas Mini Session?
Affordable - Mini sessions cost less than a full length family portrait session, so you can book to capture some Christmas magic at a time when budgeting is essential.
Time efficient - Christmas is SUCH a busy time of year. The sessions only take 30 minutes, so it only takes up a small part of your day so you aren't compromising on doing other Christmas activities!
Fun and Festive - I make my mini sessions super fun using lots of props and activities, as children need to be children and that's how you achieve the very best results!
Beautiful backdrops - This year, I went for a rustic theme with a nod to the outdoors. I had to shoot indoors due to the weather, but wanted to keep the backdrop elegant and neutral rather than themed (such as Toy Shop or Christmas baking theme) so used lots of twinkling fairy lights and a garland that I hand foraged! I haven't decided on next year's theme yet, but I am always open to suggestions, so if you have a theme in mind that you'd like me to create, drop me a message!
Quality - A lot of time and energy goes into preparing my mini shoots. I think of every single detail and carefully plan out the shoot beforehand, so I know exactly what images I want to achieve. On the day, I don't want you to feel staged or pushed, so I go with the flow, mixing up the activities depending on the child/children and how they are feeling. Ultimately, it's your experience and I want you to be happy and relaxed so we just go with it!
I can't wait to capture some magic with your family!
